Tom Tancredo has formally announced his presidential candidacy. It seems to me much of the panic in the Senate about sealing an immigration deal is intended to co-opt Tancredo in Iowa, where the issue is especially inflamed, but I think the opposite is more likely—if the Senate passes an immigration bill with any form of legalization and guest workers, Tancredo’s candidacy would be supercharged.
