This hostage taking is old stuff; they’ve been at it for 28 years. A nuclear Iran will be very different. Iranian nukes are a deterrent against others’ nukes, and will make their use of chemical and biological weapons more likely.
Then again, there are all those chlorine attacks in Iraq…
Finally, a reminder: for reasons that escape me, the Iranians have been promising for many months that in coming days–surrounding the 9th of April–will see dramatic events. Something having to do with the nuclear program (they’ve got more than a thousand new centrifuges up and running in eastern Iran, near the Afghan border) and something else that they are referring to as a “new intifada.”
We’ll see. The 9th is what? 5 days away?
