Asked this morning by CBS’s Bob Schieffer whether she still supports HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, as the president has said he does, Democratic senator Jeanne Shaheen demurred and changed the subject. When Schieffer followed up and asked, “So you’re not ready to say whether or not Secretary Sebelius should leave,” Shaheen argued it was “too early to start placing blame,” and said the focus should be on fixing the health-care law, not assigning blame.
Shaheen, along with Democratic senator Mark Pryor and others, has backed an extension of the enrollment period for Obamacare’s exchanges.
