Ben Smith thinks that Bush’s positions on education and immigration put him at odds with too many Republicans for him to win the nomination. I think Common Core is a mistaken strategy for improving education, and I oppose the Senate immigration bill. But I think Smith is wrong. Bush would have a pretty good shot at the nomination, and those issues wouldn’t doom him.
