Jettisoning the Kennedy Legend

Definitely read Jack Butler’s anti-Kennedy jeremiad. Sign me up, but I wanted to add a comment on the reference to the drug-addled JFK.

I didn’t fully realize until listening to the excellent The Rest Is History series on JFK how sick and debilitated he was. It’s astonishing that he was on his feet, let alone willed himself into the picture of robust, all-American health. That doesn’t excuse the relationship with the execrable Dr. Jacobson, or any of his other sins, but JFK represented an incredible triumph of personal will power over physical weakness.
