JFK, One More Time

I’m as worn out by JFK nostalgia as the rest of you. But here’s a final bit, and it’s not even a complaint. Today in my journalism classes at Hillsdale College, I’m handing out copies of a 50-year-old column by Jimmy Breslin, on the burial of the slain president. It’s an excellent example of finding a way to write with originality about an event the whole world is watching. In this case, Breslin reports on the guy who dug JFK’s grave. It’s a minor classic of journalism and perhaps worth a look right now, as it hits the half-century mark.
