Joan Walsh has very kindly taken the time to respond to one of my pieces on the current abortion protests. Walsh writes
You’re a fucking moron, “Kevin.”
I am very heartened to see that Walsh is keeping up the wit and style she is famous for. I was starting to worry about her — as she wrote in the Nation, she is going through some kind of episode and is having trouble remembering what she has said or done in recent days. I am praying for her speedy recovery.
I do wonder about those quotation marks around “Kevin.” Does she think I’m making up my name? Because if I were going to make up a name, I’d pick something cooler than “Kevin.” Something more Old Testament and less “Home Alone.”
But, in any case: Courage, Joan! Things could be a lot worse for your cause — here’s hoping they will be!
