EDITORIAL WRITER — USA TODAY is seeking an editorial writer with national reporting or editing experience — someone who is familiar with the issues the nation confronts and knows where to get the information that enlightens them. Our editorial board is ideologically diverse, and this opening is for a conservative who is comfortable working collaboratively to forge consensus. We’re looking for candidates with proven records of enterprise reporting, a knack for incisive analytical thinking and skill at writing persuasively for our general interest audience. Beat responsibilities will depend on the knowledge and experience of the person we hire, but expertise in health care issues is a plus. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in an online context, and creativity in that medium is an advantage.
