Johann Hari Makes Stuff Up

Jonah, regarding your post yesterday on Johann Hari’s journalistic habits: A few years ago I was astonished by a quote in one of his columns. He wrote of bioethics debates: “Scaremongers like Francis Fukuyama have even conjured hilarious visions of ‘armies of cloned Hitlers’.” I couldn’t track down any such comment, which seems wildly out of character, so I emailed Fukuyama. He replied with a categorical denial. So I’m not shocked to hear that Hari cuts corners.
