Kelly Out

I’ve been a fan of General Kelly, but apparently the relationship with Trump had gotten so toxic and he was so exhausted that any discipline he had imposed had given way. Now, the media reports seem correct that Trump is starting from scratch on a successor, given the shocker that Nick Ayers ultimately wasn’t interested. This is a burn-out job with the possibility that it will be a chewed-up-and-spit-out job under Trump. Meanwhile, DHS secretary Kirstjen Nielsen may soon be on the chopping block given Trump’s frustrations with her and the fact that Kelly was her most vociferous defender.
