I hear that the savings in mandatory programs that had supposedly been agreed to in the Biden talks are disappearing seemingly by the hour (down from as much as $500-600 billion to less than $300 billion), while the Democrats want new spending (funds for unemployment extension, doc fix, etc.) and new taxes. Barring some radical change in direction, you can stick a fork in these talks.
