You make excellent points about the Chait business. But I wonder about one thing. If you think the Iraq war was a mistake in the way people took it when you said it–i.e. we shouldn’t have waged it–it seems to me that you have to accept that Saddam would probably still be in power now. We had tried to assassinate him for a long time, after all, with no luck. If you are just saying that it is a mistake how the Iraq war has been executed, that’s a different matter (and obvious, as you point out).
