Judicial Jujitsu

It’s always a pleasure to do podcasts with Jay Nordlinger, but there are times, like this week, when it’s positively therapeutic. On a podcast, there is time to flesh out an idea or two, and to go deeper than the usual radio interview or even column permits. On Need to Know this week, we spent pretty much the whole hour on the Supreme Court. It is almost impossible to overstate the effect the Obergefell ruling will have on our society. The flagrant contempt for the rule of law that is now regnant is deeply corrupt. The liberal justices aren’t troubled by this, because they are untethered by principles about the rule of law. They want results and are not delicate about how they get them. Since the justices are behaving as legislators, it would be more honest to elect them.
