If I’m understanding this correctly: The Democratic Party intends to nominate and approve a Supreme Court justice based primarily upon her immutable characteristics — that’s not an exaggeration, that’s literally what President Biden has promised — and, when the Republican Party inevitably criticizes that candidate for having a judicial philosophy that it institutionally opposes, that same Democratic Party intends to claim that opposition to her elevation is the product of its obsession with race and sex.
