Kari Lake Continues Debasing Herself

You’d think that, after losing a statewide race that superb incumbent Arizona governor Doug Ducey, a Republican, won handily in 2018, 2022 Republican gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake would have the humility to reflect soberly on her loss and either better herself for the next election cycle or fade into obscurity with some of her dignity intact. Alas, you’d be mistaken.

This is Kari Lake, after all. A woman who told a sizable portion of the Arizona GOP electorate to either pull the lever for her or pound sand. She isn’t exactly a consummate political professional.

Instead, Lake is busy lying to impressionable members of the public that she beat Democrat Katie Hobbs in November when she actually lost by 17,000 votes. She’s also sycophantically fawning over Donald Trump, telling one audience that he is “the most amazing man in” her life, ahead of her husband, who is the “second-most-amazing.” It’s a transparent attempt to hitch her wagon to Trump’s presidential campaign. She also says she identifies as a “proud election-denying deplorable,” and has called for the imprisonment of Maricopa County election officials.

To avoid further self-debasement, Kari Lake should take a break from the spotlight. She lives in a beautiful state that she claims to love. Why not spend some time exploring it so she can get a sense of the problems facing Arizonans rather than the gripes of the terminally online Right?
