Kasich on Why He’s Not Helping Rubio in Fla.: My Supporters Should ‘Reward Me’ for My ‘Achievements’

To lessen Donald Trump’s chances of winning the Republican nomination, Marco Rubio is advising his supporters to not vote for him in Ohio, a winner-take-all state, as ”clearly John Kasich has a better chance of winning Ohio than I do.”

Asked this morning if he would return the favor and encourage his supporters to vote Rubio in Florida, another winner-take-all state, Kasich emphatically said no — despite admitting he’s not even campaigning in Florida.

“How do you tell your people that are for you to go vote for somebody else?” Kasich told CNN’s Jake Tapper. ”And after all, I’m not into a stop Trump as more as I am be-for-Kasich movement.”

“You know, reward me for the experience in foreign affairs,” he said. ”Reward me for the achievements I have had in balancing budgets and creating an environment for job creation, both in the country and in Ohio. Reward me for that.”
