Keeping The Dream Alive

A longtime reader responds to my piece in the current issue, where I write: “. . . conservatives — at least some of them — also claimed that Bill Clinton …had countless people, including Vince Foster, killed. These fantasies didn’t pan out (and sensible conservatives never indulged them)….”:

What do you mean, “these fantasies didn’t pan out”? Or is that Liberalspeak for a (as yet) successful coverup?

Do you really believe that Mr. Foster committed suicide, then got up and walked to Fort Marcy Park, where his body was discovered a fair distance from the alleged suicide weapon. [Of course, people who commit suicide apparently do get up and walk across rooms, force open windows that have been stuck closed for twenty years, and then leap to their (second) death, as evidenced by the official version of the lynching of Irv Rubin to avoid bringing him to trial on fabricated charges.] And it’s just a remarkable coincidence that Lady Hillary’s chief of staff, Margaret Williams, looted boxes of [incriminating?] papers from Mr. Foster’s office before the Park Police showed up to seal it. And all the other persuading evidence that the media and good citizens of this wonderful nation decided were less important than who Mr. Clinton was “not having sex” with.

Me: Yes, I think Foster committed suicide. But I do agree that the Clinton White House responded to the suicide with the sort of cover-up and skullduggery liberals usually ascribe to the Bush White House.
