Kerry Spouts Dem Talking Point on Benghazi: ‘I Really Haven’t Learned Anything New’

Secretary of State John Kerry reiterated what other Democrats have said since this week’s House Oversight Committee hearing on Benghazi: The three whistleblowers revealed no new information. “I really haven’t learned anything new,” Kerry told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell this afternoon. He added that he “hate[s] to see it turned into a pure, prolonged, political process that really doesn’t tell us anything new about the facts.”

Kerry went on to say that “America can never cower, American can never run away and hide from its responsibilities” in its mission to advance human rights amid the “risks” it takes.

Among the news revealed during the hearing, career State Department official Gregory Hicks said he spoke with then-secretary of state Hillary Clinton at 2 a.m. on the night of the attack, that no one on the ground in Libya mentioned a YouTube video as sparking the attack to the State Department, that Clinton’s chief-of-staff was “very upset” that he cooperated with a Republican congressman investigating the issue, and that special forces were “furious” when they were told to stand down during the attack. Outside the hearings, ABC News reports the talking points used by Ambassador Susan Rice regarding the attacks underwent twelve revisions, contrary to Jay Carney’s claim in November that only one a “single adjustment” took place.

White Progressives Are Polarizing America

To understand how far left (and how quickly) the Democratic party has moved, let’s cycle back a very short 20 years. If 1998 Bill Clinton ran in the Democratic primary today, he’d be instantaneously labeled a far-right bigot. His support for the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, the Defense of Marriage Act, ...
