I thought readers were joking when they said ol’ nuance eyes put “hazel….sometimes blue” on his hunting license application. But they were serious. From the October 18, Knight Ridder/Tribune News Service by Thomas Fitzgerald:
Later, Kerry stopped at the Village Grocery in Buchanan, Ohio, to drop $140 on a nonresident hunting license with a wetlands habit stamp so that he can hunt ducks on a return to Ohio later this week.
He spelled his name, gave his Boston address and described his eyes as “hazel.” Kerry paused, adding, “Blue, some days. Does it have ‘blue, some days’?” he asked the clerk filling out his application on a computer.
