For my talk radio callers who are veterans, both Republicans and Democrats, Kerry’s war record can be summed up in two words: “Jane Fonda.”
When he joined Fonda’s anti-war movement, he permanently linked himself to the one woman less popular in the military than Hillary Clinton. I’ve been surprised by the number of Vietnam vets who still remember Kerry’s testimony and the fallout from it.
Sure, GWB got the Congressman’s son treatment, but at least he didn’t HURT the war effort or help create the climate in which soldiers could not wear their uniforms in public back home.
