That Krauthammer Column after Oklahoma City

Friends, this morning I had an item about a column Charles Krauthammer had in 1995, following the Oklahoma City bombing — and the use President Clinton and others made of it. It was the kind of column that makes you grateful. At least it made me so. I was wrong on one detail: I thought the column appeared after the speech Clinton made at Michigan State University; it appeared after a speech he gave in Milwaukee.

Throughout the day, people have said, “Can we see that column? Can we see the column Krauthammer wrote in 1995?” You can indeed: NRO has posted it, here. I consider Krauthammer’s column of today (here) a companion to it. What a shame that either column had to be written. How gratifying that Krauthammer wrote them.
