Charles Krauthammer said tonight on Fox News’ Special Report that Hillary Clinton “did what she needed to do” in last night’s debate and will easily win the Democratic primary.
“With apologies to Yogi Berra,” Krauthammer said. “Sometimes it really is over.”
Krauthammer said the Democratic primary unofficially ended when Clinton’s chief competitor, Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-Vt.), declared her email scandal a dead issue.
“The nomination contest ended when Sanders said, ‘We’re sick and tired of hearing about the damn emails,”‘ said Krauthammer. “If you’re running against a front-runner, who is being investigated by the FBI and you say, ‘this is now officially off the table, no Democrat will discuss it, and it will not be discussed,’ means that between now and the convention, it’s not an issue.”
“These guys, her opponents, barely could have made the undercard debate on the Republican side,” he said.
