Krauthammer’s Take

From Thursday night’s Fox News All-Stars.

On the ongoing debt negotiations and Harry Reid’s decision to cancel the Senate’s July 4 recess:

What Harry Reid has done is a stunt. He’ll call the Senate together. They will accomplish nothing. They have not passed a budget in 800 days.

The Republicans are serious. They control the House, and they passed a budget.

The president had proposed a budget in February. It was so absurd [that] it added onto the debt. It was rejected in the Senate 97-0.

So if you’re going to measure the seriousness here — hearing Obama yesterday scold the Republicans like a schoolmaster, saying his children get the homework done on time — the Republicans have done homework. It’s called a budget. And Obama has none.

I don’t think any of this is going to eventuate in anything. Obama is holding out. He’s running a campaign on class warfare, and that’s what he wants to stick to.
