With public support for the Afghanistan war at a low, Charles Krauthammer pointed to President Obama’s failure to explain why the United States still should play a role in the country. He described the president’s position on the war as one “in which he never supported and he essentially abandoned even as it was going on.”

“Americans don’t like wars and they shouldn’t,” he said on Special Report on Friday. “They’ll only support a war, starting under FDR and all the way up until today, if the president will go out and explain why and make a case.”

Krauthammer also pointed out that three out of four Americans killed in the war have been while President Obama has been in office as a sign of the administration’s detrimental approach to Afghanistan.
