Krauthammer’s Take: Obamacare Foes Should Switch Tactics

Repeal of Obamacare is a “bridge too far” and the law’s foes need to switch tactics, Charles Krauthammer said tonight.

Speaking during his panel appearance on Special Report, Krauthammer said that Democrats will never repeal Obamacare, and if the law’s opponents are going to threaten to shut down the government or refuse to raise the debt ceiling in order to win concessions, they should instead try to roll back provisions of Obamacare that Democrats are concerned about and “on which there is a national consensus.”

Krauthammer said he thought it would be smart of the House to pass a “clean” continuing resolution and instead use the debt ceiling as leverage.

“If you ask [people] about raising the debt ceiling, there’s a huge amount of resistance . . . no matter who’s in power, so you’re already starting with a lot of wind behind you,” he said.
