Krauthammer’s Take: Obama’s Epitaph Will Say ‘He Couldn’t Govern, But He Sure Knew How to Campaign’

On Wednesday’s Special Report, Charles Krauthammer said President Obama used the State of the Union to put forward proposals he knew would not sit well with Republicans. He did so, Krauthammer added, in order to seize the agenda, which he lost when the GOP made big gains in November. 

“This sort of reinforces the idea that I am sure will be the epitaph of the Obama presidency: “He couldn’t govern, but he sure knew how to campaign,” ” Krauthammer said. “As he said in the State of the Union address, the best line he had and the most revealing was, ‘I won twice.’”

 Krauthammer continued to explain that Obama used the address as an opportunity to put Republicans on the defensive and pretend that he is still in charge.
