Kurdistan: The Other Iraq

The Committee to Protect Journalists reports on Masud Barzani and Jalal Talabani’s increasing harassment of the independent press, especially that which criticizes growing corruption within the Iraqi Kurdish government. Here. It is ironic that while the Iraqi Kurds and their lobbyists promote the region as a bastion of democracy, the press is freer in Baghdad than in Erbil.
