The Corner

lady in the house

When we were talking about candidate hires who have expertise when it comes to judicial fights, we totally forgot to mention Barbara Comstock, who was Ashcroft’s DOJ spokeswoman. (Comstock has on occasion, through the years, written for NRO.) She worked on the Olson and Ashcroft nominations, the circuit-court noms for Roberts, Chertoff, and Estrada. During the Roberts and Alito SCOTUS battles, she worked with Progress for America. Now she’s a senior Romney adviser — who looked pretty popular when I ran into her at the Federalist Society confab in D.C. last month. Not a bad catch.
