Lance Armstrong: My Career Was a ‘Mythic, Perfect Story and It Wasn’t True’

In last night’s much-anticipated interview on the Oprah Winfrey Network, Lance Armstrong admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs throughout his career, and called his denials over the years “one big lie I repeated a lot of times.” “This story was so perfect for so long,” Armstrong said. “As I try to take myself outside of this situation and look at it: your work on the disease, you win the Tour de France seven times, you have a happy marriage, you have children — it’s just this mythic, perfect story, and it wasn’t true.”
