Responding to Impromptus today — which is about Santa Fe and New Mexico — a reader writes, “Is it a sign of the poor economy that I’m seeing topless Ukrainian protestors at Davos on AOL News, and then find you in Santa Fe rather than there?” Very funny (genuinely).
This reader then suggests a couple of lines that’ll go over real well in New Mexico — just try ’em: 1) “Say, how much is that in American money?” 2) “Tell me, does all of Arizona look like this?”
I feel I can gibe, or publish gibes, because my love of New Mexico is so well established.
P.S. Do you like “gibe” or “jibe”? I vacillate (unlike on most issues).
