Laugh? I thought I’d die

From the BBC:

Six men have been arrested on suspicion of incitement offences by anti-terror officers from the Metropolitan Police.

They include Abu Izzadeen, also known as Omar Brooks, who made headlines when he heckled Home Secretary John Reid at an event last year.

Mr Izzadeen or Brooks is quite the wag. Last year, The Times of London reported his socko Islamostandup routine was a big hit at Muslim community centers:

At one point he announces dramatically that the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center ‘changed many people’s lives.’ After a pause, he brings the house down by adding: ‘Especially those inside.’

He doesn’t bring the house down literally. He leaves that to Mohammed Atta – for the moment. But his all-time great one-liner came during a debate at Trinity College, Dublin a couple of months back. Asked what Muhammad’s message was to non-believers, he said:

I come to slaughter all of you.

Warming to his theme, he said, “We are the Muslims. We drink the blood of the enemy, and we can face them anywhere.” Doesn’t appear to have attempted to drink the blood of Scotland Yard’s arresting officers.
