Lawsuit filed against Masrour Barzani

Dr. Kamal Sayid Qadir, a Kurdish anti-corruption activist who last year was abducted and subjected to kangaroo justice in Iraqi Kurdistan (background here), writes to say he has filed charges for kidnapping and torture with the public prosecutor in Vienna, Austria, against Masrour Barzani, the son of Kurdish leader Masud Barzani.  Masrour, a 1997 graduate of American university runs Iraqi Kurdistan’s intelligence and internal security service.  It will be interesting to see whether Europe now places realpolitik above its rhetoric of justice and human rights.
