The Telegraph reports that two gunmen opened fire at a free speech meeting in Copenhagen today, killing a 40-year-old man and wounding at least three others, apparently police officers.
The gunmen reportedly wore black and spoke Danish. They fired dozens of rounds at the café in Osterbro, in central Copenhagen, where the meeting was taking place. The sped away in a Volkswagon Polo. Witnesses got the license plate and police are searching for the vehicle.
The meeting featured Lars Vilks, the Swedish artist who drew an unflattering image of the prophet Mohammed in 2007. Al-Qaeda in Iraq (now known as the Islamic State) put a $150,000 bounty on his head.
Francois Zimeray, the French ambassador to Denmark was also attending the meeting, but was unharmed. He has given a eyewitness account to reporters.
