At Least Three Insurers Saw Plans Disappear from HealthCare.gov Last Week

At least three Wisconsin insurers saw their plans disappear from the federal health exchange last week.

On December 11, plans offered by WPS Health Insurance, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin disappeared from HealthCare.gov. An Arise Health Plan offered by WPS also showed incorrect deductible amounts for a few hours, according to Scott Kowalski, the company’s executive vice president of health insurance.

“We were told this was a nationwide occurrence and there was no rhyme or reason to what was happening,” Kowalski said.

The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services did not respond Monday or Tuesday to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s questions about the glitches.
