LeBron vs. Obama

It’s a gorgeous day here in Cleveland — 80 degrees, not a cloud in the sky. We have precious few like these, so we appreciate them all the more. This is a notoriously tough town. We don’t take anything for granted. Indeed, we’ve been conditioned to expect, and prepare for, the worst. In this regard, we’re rarely disappointed. LeBron James gets it.

The line in his return-to-Cleveland statement that resonates most with us denizens of the North Coast is the following: “In Northeast Ohio, nothing is given. Everything is earned. You work for what you have.”

Contrast that statement with Barack Obama’s obtuse, insulting, and dispiriting 2012 observation, ” You didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.”

Rumor has it LeBron’s a better basketball player, too.
