Blame it on taking too many courses with Prof. Harvey Mansfield, but I’m a fan of Leo Strauss’s work — or at least the parts I understand. In today’s Wall Street Journal, I have a piece about the newly remastered recordings of Strauss’s lectures, which will soon be available online. Here’s the lede:

When President George W. Bush ordered the invasion of Iraq in 2003, conspiracy theorists suspected that a puppet master was behind him. No, not Dick Cheney. The alleged puppeteer was the late Leo Strauss.
