Rep. Joe Barton is proposing legislation that would kill the BCS for college football and force the adoption of a playoff. Since Barton’s from Texas, a lot of people find the introduction of this legislation to be a little too convienent this year, given complaints the Longhorns have been given unfair rankings.
Speaking as a political commentator, I have no idea how Congress can possibly justify wading into this debate. Speaking as an Oregon alumnus — the college that has pretty indisputably gotten the shaft from the BCS more than any other — Give ‘em hell, Joe!
