A Letter Would Be Fine

Capitol Hill was atwitter this afternoon about Tuesday’s State of the Union. In the Speaker’s lobby — the main hangout for reporters — congressmen drew up seating arrangements and weighed in on the speech’s potential themes. One gentleman, however, Rep. Ron Paul (R., Texas), told us that he has little regard for the pomp. Thomas Jefferson, I noted, sent his update via post. “Oh, that would satisfy me,” Paul smiled.
