Lowry-I reviled you in the past. But we need your help now. New Orleans was destroyed not by nature-but by state and federal incompetence. This is a huge story. MRGO is a major factor in the immediate flooding-but just a chapter in this tragedy decades in the making.
And the key fact is that if the conservative vision of parsimonious well managed government had been in control rather than the reality of pork barrel, graft, and bureaucracy it never would have happened.
Exposing this whole sorry charade will be beneficial to the conservative vision in the end-but a lot of reputations will get torched in the process.
That’s why it’s so important this story be told. And many interests will prefer it not be told. Please stay on it.
