Nathan Goulding’s explanation on Sixers last night was definitive, though I see that, with his usual brashness, he is hogging all the credit. He and I were hanging Tuesday–the usual, a few beers, writing some code–when I said, as if casually, “Isn’t the matter of W3C compliance suggestive?”

“By Jove, Brookhiser,” he exclaimed. “Do you mean–”

“You know my methods, Goulding,” I said. “Apply them.”
