As eagle-eyed NRO readers may have noticed thanks to the ad in the right-hand column, I’ve written a book on Lincoln that comes out June 11. I won’t say much about it now except that it is about Lincoln as an apostle of opportunity, since everyone will grow weary of my posting about it soon enough. But I have a long essay in the new print edition that isn’t an excerpt from the book so much as an extension of one of its arguments, taking on the critics of Lincoln from the right. Also, I will be talking about the book at the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda, Calif., on June 18; the Reagan Ranch Center in Santa Barbara, Calif., on June 19; and the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation in Simi Valley, Calif., also on June 19.
