Lippmann

I agree with the substance from Andy McCarthy and Mario Loyola, but can we be just a little less deferential to Walter Lippmann? He was a great American figure and a very smart man who lived a very impressive life. But he was so wrong about so many important things — and right about a good many things too — that you can basically throw a dart at his life work and either hit genius or cosmic stupidity, but always vanity.
