A Lot of Interesting Debates

are going on around here, and I’m not going to participate in any of them at least until I’m back from the Club for Growth shindig. For now, though, let me note that the “liberaltarian” tag is an odd one to apply to the Brooks-Douthat position in this debate. What Douthat, in particular, is interested in is 180 degrees away from a synthesis of libertarian economics and social liberalism. Even Brooks, in his invocation of order as a neglected virtue, is sounding pretty conservative. I’ll post more in a few days, unless you guys hash all these issues out while I’m in Club-land.
