Lots Of Face Time – In the Crosshairs

I also thought that Romney performed fairly well tonight. The upshot of all the attacks on him was that he seemed to me, at least, to get in a great many more words than any other candidate did. As long as you don’t embarrass yourself with a gaffe (or glancing at your watch), you want the camera on you, not the other guys. The Sunday-morning coverage tomorrow will consist largely of assaults on Romney’s views and then his responses (plus a sidebar on his victory in Wyoming earlier today). Most people who will ever be affected by the debate will be affected by this coverage, not by watching the program.

Thompson isn’t going to be president, but he’s going to be a big star on the GOP circuit in the coming months and years. Tonight showed why that is.


Huckabee had a couple of good moment, but seemed much of the time like he wasn’t really part of the current game. Which is, essentially, correct.




And I thought McCain looked and sounded like a jerk. Of course, in New Hampshire, there is a certain pro-jerk factor. . .
