Since I wrote about the odd goings on surrounding the cancellation of the beloved Christian radio program, Issues, Etc. last Friday, I’ve received aproximately eleventy billion emails requesting updates on the situation.
Fortunately, my better half has an article in today’s Wall Street Journal that fleshes out the controversy in some detail. It appears the cancellation may have something to do with church politics. The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod isn’t being very forthcoming about the reasons for canceling the show, and in addition to what my wife reported, additional facts are emerging that make the Synod’s explanation for canceling the show during Holy Week without any prior notice and without running the decision through the normal administrative channels seem awfully suspect.
As an LCMS member, I hope that this gets resolved soon and Issues, Etc. gets back on the air in one form or another post haste.
