Mann v. NR — Update on the Lawsuit

Today National Review’s counsel filed an extensive and detailed brief before the DC Court of Appeals, which is hearing the appeal of various lower court rulings on Michael Mann’s lawsuit against NR (the co-defendants in the case being Mark Steyn, the Competitive Enterprise Institute, and Rand Simberg).

The brief provides an excellent history of this case, and of the many reasons why it deserves to be dismissed. It is also an excellent statement of concerns about attacks on and threats to the First Amendment. I suggest all those interested in those issues and this case, especially those of you who have been kind enough to help defray National Review’s legal costs, read the brief, which is available here.
