This already feels like beating a dead horse, and maybe Rubio begins to move beyond it with a second-place finish tomorrow, but a few more thoughts on why it could really hurt going forward:
- It was a spontaneous moment and therefore provides more valuable information to voters than any number of TV ads or set speeches.
- It will probably create lingering doubt about whether Rubio can handle the pressure cooker of a debate with Hillary.
- It makes anything Rubio says going forward easier to dismiss as another scripted line (when, of course, any disciplined candidate is largely scripted).
