The Rubio Debate Moment

This already feels like beating a dead horse, and maybe Rubio begins to move beyond it with a second-place finish tomorrow, but a few more thoughts on why it could really hurt going forward:

  1. It was a spontaneous moment and therefore provides more valuable information to voters than any number of TV ads or set speeches.
  2. It will probably create lingering doubt about whether Rubio can handle the pressure cooker of a debate with Hillary.
  3. It makes anything Rubio says going forward easier to dismiss as another scripted line (when, of course, any disciplined candidate is largely scripted).
