I had long figured he was naturally going to leave soon anyway. But Nov. 8 rubbed me the wrong way. If you were going to do that, you should have tried to preempt poltiical disaster … and get the transition rolling sooner, too (this isn’t all about politics). I have no idea if it would have really saved the GOP seats, but it wouldn’t have hurt to give it a try if these were the plans months ago.
