While his state is getting hit by yet another massive snow storm, Virginia’s Democratic senator Mark Warner quipped on Twitter that he half-expected the state’s Republican party to blame the weather on Obamacare . . . and then deleted it 26 seconds later. The original tweet read:
“Just a matter of time: waiting for the @VA_GOP to claim this winter storm was caused by The Affordable Care Act. #Snowbamacare”
Politwoops, which collects politicians’ deleted tweets, says Warner then almost immediately deleted it and issued an apology, in which he blamed the joke on a staffer.
Oops. Staff #fail on a snow day. Removed as quickly as possible. Enjoy the rest of your snow day.
