I think the substance of his speech is ok, given his politics (I agree with some of it, by the way). But what an awful choice for a keynoter. The guy is running to replace a revered Republican Senator in a state that is still essentially Republican/center-right. He can’t do real red meat — which they really need. Moreover, he comes across like he should be giving a speech at a Ramada Inn with a powerpoint slide behind him. “If you put 10% down now, you’ll not only get full pool privileges, but we’ll paint your new Boca Raton condo any color you like!”
